ENOSBURG FALLS - Ruth Ileane (Monette) Ladue, age 101, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Franklin County Rehab Facility in St. Alban. Ruth was able to live in her own home up until four weeks ago with the help of her granddaughter, Marilyn LaRochelle, her great grandson Shayne LaRochelle and his girlfriend, Brittney.
She was born in Bakersfield on January 16, 1914 the daughter of the late Alfred & Amelia (Bombard) Monette.
Ruth was a resident of Enosburg Falls most of her life. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Enosburgh Historical Society. She was employed for many years as a housekeeper for Dr. & Mrs. Eppley as well as many other families in the community.
She attended Care Partners in St. Albans where she learned to dance at the age of 98. Along with dancing she also enjoyed playing cards. In her earlier years she became an excellent seamstress and also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening
She is survived by her daughter, Ella Patterson of Enosburg Falls; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Leslie G. Ladue; her sons, Burton & Howard Ladue; her daughters, Virginia & Laura Ladue; her sisters, Rose Ladue, Mary McKinney & Florence Cutting; and her brothers, Clarence, Leon, Carmi & Albert Monette.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 222 Missisquoi Street, Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2-4 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
