STOWE, VT / RIVIERA BEACH, FL - Ruth A. Musslewhite, age 82, passed away Tuesday September 9, 2008 at the Hospice Unit of Hospice of Palm Beach County with her loving family at her side.
She was born August 22, 1926 in Arendal, Norway the daughter of the late Hans Martin Olson and Petrine Marie (Osuldsen) Olson. Ruth came to this country as a young child.
Ruth loved to travel and spent many happy years living in England, France, and the Netherlands with her husband who worked in these locations for Exxon Corporation. She enjoyed cooking and served many wonderful meals to her family and friends. She had a kind and generous spirit which displayed to all those around her. She also loved preparing and sharing Christmas with her family in Stowe.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Musslewhite of Stowe, VT and Riviera Beach, FL. She also survived by her children, Sharon DeVries and her husband Douglas of Montgomery Center, Kim Spaulding and her husband Frank of Underhill, and Peter Musslewhite of Ormand Beach, FL. She was a beloved grandmother to Desiree, Kirsten and Brittany DeVries and Trevor Spaulding. She is also survived by her brothers, Clifford, Ronald, Ralph and Kenneth Bornstad; her sister, Hilda Huber; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Ruth was predeceased by her step-father, Ragnar Bjornstad; two sisters, Joan Cosgrove and Barbara Holland; and a brother, Carl Olson
Graveside services were held Saturday September 13, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Riverbank Cemetery in Stowe with her family and the Rev. Bruce Comiskey of the Stowe Community Church.
