BERKSHIRE - Sandor J. Schmup Jr., age 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born in Budapest, Hungary on November 25, 1934 to the late Sandor Sr. & Ilonka (Orovecz) Schump.
Sandor moved to America in 1956 and settled in New Haven, CT. He met the love of his life, Ilonka at The Hungarian Club in Connecticut; they raised 6 children. He worked as a tool & die maker at United Tech for several years before retiring to Vermont. Sandor was a great husband, father and grandfather. He was a very hard worker and provider for his family. Sandor was the guiding light for his children and they fondly remember the trips to the beach with him over the years.
He is survived by his children, David Schump and his wife Sandi of Colchester, Carol Schump of Bolton, and Susan Anderson and her husband John of Barre; 14 grandchildren & 21 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Sandor was predeceased by his wife, Ilonka (Joroka) Schump; son, Sandor L. Schump and daughters, Ilonka Shibilshi & Eva Luysterborghs.
A celebration of life will be held, Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 4-8:00 PM at the Schump Residence, 4561 West Berkshire Rd., Berkshire, VT.
