EAST BERKSHIRE - Serena L. LaRochelle, age 27, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at her home with her loving family at her side after a yearlong battle with cancer.
She was born October 10, 1986 in Burlington, the daughter of Caroline Miller & Kevin LaRochelle.
Serena was employed at Hannafords in Enosburg Falls for 5 years until her illness required her to stop working one year ago. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and the way her smile lite up a room. She enjoyed the simple things in life especially gardening, crafts and being creative.
Serenas greatest and happiest day of her life was with the birth of her son, Hayden. He was the joy and center of her life and the reason she fought so long and hard against the cancer that eventually took her life.
Serena was loved and supported by Haydens Dad, Mark Smith and by her special friend Sean St. Cyr. Until the end these men played an important role in her life and will always be remembered by her family for the love they gave her. Also a support and love in her life was her mother, Caroline Marcy and stepdad, David Marcy. She leaves behind her Baby Brother , Stephen LaRochelle, and her youngest brother & sister, Hunter & Kenzie Marcy. Serena also leaves behind her father, Kevin LaRochelle and many aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of her family who loved her very much. She leaves a special friend who Serena considered her adopted Grandmother, Grandma Judy . She loved the many phone calls, coffee time visits and friendship that Judy unconditionally gave. We thank you for that Judy. Serena will be missed but never forgotten.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. A time of sharing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 3:00 PM. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family this spring in the South Richford Cemetery.
