RICHFORD - Shawn E. Huey Hogaboom, age 45, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with his loving family by his side, after battling liver disease.
He was born in Burlington on February 16, 1971 to Jean (Audette) Hogaboom and the late Richard Dick Hogaboom.
Huey worked at Harrness Dairy and other area farms, when his health allowed him to do so. He loved spending time with his family, especially his wife and boys. He loved fast cars, fast rides and he was a man that had no fear! Listening to music, fishing and swimming were also some of his favorite hobbies. Huey had a big heart and the character of a Big Teddy Bear . He had the biggest smile and the brightest eyes that could light up any room... and his laugh - everyone loved his laugh!
Huey is survived by his wife, Christie (Snider) Hogaboom and their sons, Logan & Gage all of Richford; his mother, Jean Hogaboom of Fairfax; 5 siblings, Linda of Richford, Vickie and her fianc Steve of Hyde Park, Jodi and her significant other Donny of Johnson, Richard Rick and his wife Linda of Manchester, CT and Scott Sam and his wife Lisa of Enosburg; a step-brother, Jesse and his wife Karen of Montgomery; mother-in-law, Tina and her husband David of Richford; father-in-law, Norman and his significant other Nancy of Sheldon; 3 siblings-in-law, Chad and his wife Tracy of Richford, Danielle and her fianc Pete of Barre and Ashley and her husband Nick of Milton; nieces & nephews, Breanna, Travis, Bailey, Ryan, Hayley, Wendy and her husband Scott, Heather and her significant other Rob, Stephanie and her significant other Scott, Danielle, Erin and her fianc Jose, Jane and significant other Jason, Mark, April, Josh and his significant other Jessica, Lauren and her significant other Jimmy, Katelyn and her significant other Jaron, Scott, Jarrod, Ethan, Alyssa, Kristen, Justin and Taylor and several great nieces & nephews and many close friends. Besides his father, Huey was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Frank Hogaboom and Marion Combs; maternal grandparents, Napoleon Audette and Irene Rexford; step-father, Pete Soule; sister-in-law, Michele Snider; paternal grandparents-in-law, Edward Snider and his wife Barbara and maternal grandparents-in-law, Gala Dragon and Marcel.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow in Richford Center Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the hour of the service.
