ENOSBURG FALLS - Shelba J. Prive, age 69, passed away at her home with her loving husband at her side on Sunday, January 22, 2017 following a long illness.
Shelba was born April 4, 1947 in Barton, VT the daughter of the late Alvin E. Miles Sr & Evelyn (Laroque) Miles.
Shelbas working career was focused on bookkeeping for several companies including, CVOEO, Champlain Chevrolet, Howard Bank & R&D Enterprises (Bob Cota). She also worked as a bar tender at the American Legion in Enosburg Falls and as a clerk at Family Dollar in Enosburg Falls.
Shelba enjoyed doing crosswords, knitting, going to lawn sales, BINGO, dancing, picnics, embroidering & art-tex painting. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family get-togethers.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Prive of Enosburg Falls; her daughter, Nancy Bovat and her husband David of Springfield, VT; her son, Scott Prive and his fianc, Samantha Marchessault; her grandchildren, Max Messier, Dawson & Taylor Bovat, and Harlee & Keegan Prive; her step granddaughter, Natalie Johnson; her brother, Alvin Miles Jr. and his partner Avris Billado of Enosburgh; her sister, Donna Jutras and her husband Michael of Sheldon; an aunt, uncle and several nieces, nephews & cousins. Besides her parents, Shelba was predeceased by her sister, Bonnie Miles
Shelbas family wishes to thank Dr. Garrison and staff at the UVM Pulmonary Clinic and the staff at Franklin County Home Health Agency for the care and compassion provided to Shelba during her illness.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in the Franklin Village Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
