Shelby Paradee

FAIRFIELD - Shelby Jean Paradee, age 71, widow of Frederick D. Paradee, passed away Monday September 1, 2008 at her home with her loving family at her side.

She was born May 24, 1937 in Sheldon the daughter of the late Myron & Etta (Cook) Glidden.

Shelby was a resident of Fairfield most of her life and was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church. She drove school bus for the Town of Fairfield for 22 years retiring in 1994. She also started farming with her husband in 1959 and was still farming with her family until poor health recently forced her to stop. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and watching birds. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Mark Paradee and his wife Anne of Fairfield, Roy Paradee and his wife Michelle of Berkshire, Michael Paradee of Fairfield, Ann Sturgeon and her husband Edward of Enosburg, and Joanne Minckler and her husband Steven of Sheldon; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Minckler, Christopher Sturgeon, Sherri Sturgeon, Allen Paradee, Sarah Paradee, and Shelby Paradee; her sister, Marilyn Almeida and her husband Richard of Essex; her half sisters, Linda Rockwell of Emporiam, PA, and Priscilla Johnson and her husband David of Fairfield; a brother-in-law, Thomas Paradee and his wife Ellen of Fairfield; her sisters-in-law, Mary Boudreau and her husband Richard of Franklin, and Dora Paradee of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Frederick D. Paradee on April 2, 1994. Shelby & Fred were married November 26, 1957.

Funeral services will be held Friday September 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Fairfield with Rev. Leonidas Laroche celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in the Sheldon Village Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
