SWANTON – Shirley M. Hubbard, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Brownway Residence in Enosburg Falls.
She was born in Plattsburg, NY on September 15, 1939 to the late Harold & Gladys (Dashnaw) Maulding.
Shirley was born and raised in New York and moved to Vermont in 1959. She had four wonderful children who she was lucky enough to stay home with throughout their childhood years. She joined the workforce and spent many years working as a Buyer for Gaynes Department Store and manufacturing for Huber & Suhner. Shirley lived an extremely active life and loved to stay busy. She was always proud of her well-manicured perennial and vegetable gardens. Shirley loved a good day on the golf course, enjoyed playing Rummy, reading, listening to music, trout fishing, bird watching and cooking for her family. She adored her beloved canine companion, Millie. Shirley’s family will miss visiting with her, “Girls Night’s” and her cherry cheesecake that she always made during the holidays.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly Russ and her husband William, Timothy Hubbard and his wife Joanie, Lana Renaudette and her husband Marcel, and Peggy Howrigan and her husband David; grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Casey, Rebecca and her husband Richard, Robert and his fiancée Abbi, Ashton and her husband Seth, Adam and Cameron, Andrew and Quinn, Chris and Jenny, Anthony and his fiancée Paige, Kelly and her husband John, Kimberly, Jared and his wife Amber, Josh and his wife Tiffany, and Taylor and his wife Rachel; great grandchildren, Sawyer, Emerson, Hailey, Matthew, Calyx, Kember, Cayley, Cole, Mya, Ahna, Holden, Rylee, Raegan, Cam, Harper, Holland, Nova, Walker, Braden, Tucker, Spencer and Waylon; her brother, Eugene Maulding and his wife Donna; and several nieces, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her sister, Jackie Sowolla, and her beloved dog, Millie.
In respecting Shirley’s wishes, her family is holding a private Life Celebration.
