ST.ALBANS - Shirley A. Oldenburgh, age 80, passed away Monday morning, December 16, 2013 at St. Albans Healthcare & Rehab facility where she had resided since 2010.
She was born January 23, 1933 in Grafton, NH the daughter of the late Perley & Iva (Royce) Smith.
Shirley was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Atlas Plywood in Morrisville for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage with her friends.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Patricia & Rodney Joyal of St. Albans, Jeanne & Andy Robtoy of Colorado Springs, CO, and James & Carol Thorton of Burlington; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her grandson, Billy-Jo Joyal; and 1 sister & 5 brothers.
In keeping with Shirleys wishes, her body was donated to the University of Vermont Anatomical Science Program. There will be no funeral service or visiting hours.
