BELVIDERE/ MORRISVILLE - Stella M. Brown, age 81, passed away Wednesday September 12, 2012 at the Copley Hospital in Morrisville.
She was born March 6, 1931 in Stanbridge Est., Quebec Canada the daughter of the late Wenslie & Irleen Ila (Bocash) Blake.
Stella was an active and vital resident of Belvidere most of her life and was a member of the United Church of Christ, Belvidere Cemetery Association, and one of the founding members of the Belvidere Community Club. She was a cook at the Belvidere Elementary School for 13 years retiring in 1980. For the past several years she made her home at Copley Terrace in Morrisville where she led an active and happy life.
Stella will be missed by all and remembered for her love of knitting, taking pictures, being an avid collector, a local historian and her willingness to help anyone.
She is survived by her 3 daughters and their husbands, Margaret & Richard Wells of Rineyville, KY, Anna Jones of Wolcott and Debora & James Baker of Belvidere; son-in-law, Burt Burleson and his wife Sue of Belvidere; 7 grandchildren, Amy Nemeth, Richard Wellls Jr, Maurice Jones III and his partner Andrea, Susan Wells, Eric Baker and his wife Elissa, Tania Hammersmith and her husband Robert, and Katie Baker and her partner Tony; 12 great grandchildren, Adam, Nicholas, Wesley, Ashley, Jessica, Justin, Joshua, Paige, Blake, Ryan, Jacob & Erin; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Stella was predeceased by her husband Amsden Brown; daughter, Kathleen Burleson; granddaughter Erin Elizabeth Baker; great granddaughter, Kayla Lynn Wells; and son-in-law, Maurice Jones, Jr.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Belvidere Community Field, Amsden Brown Pavilion, Route 109, Belvidere, VT with Rev. John Nutting officiating. There will be no visiting hours. Interment will take place at the Belvidere Center Cemetery. Following the committal a pot luck picnic will be held at the Community Field.
