Steven Deyo

ALBURGH- Steven Deyo, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, at the UVM Medical Center.

Steven was born on March 20, 1948, to Harold and Lorraine (Bruley) Deyo.

Steven was a beloved son, father, grandfather, and great grandfather in the Alburgh community. Steven dedicated his life to serving others and was a founding member of the Alburgh Fire Department for over six decades with close friends Jimmy Blair, Terry Tatro, and the late Bubby Irick.

Steven's passion for excavation and his steadfast commitment as a Plow truck Driver for the Agency of Transportation were evident in the meticulous work he performed, as well as being an operator for Beaulac Excavating. He took great pride in his skills, from his love for welding in his younger years to his dedication to corn season combining. He had a strong passion for hunting, fishing, and maple sugaring with his sons, and most recently his grandson. Throughout his life, Steven's involvement in the community extended beyond his professional endeavors, surrounding himself with family and friends.

Steven is survived by his children, Joseph "Skipper" Deyo and his wife Kelly, Stephanie "Fluffy" Fresn and her husband Josh, and Michael "Festus" Deyo and his wife Jessica; grandchildren, Brianna "Mable" Nichols and her husband Evan, Kerri Deyo and her wife Mackenzie, Shane "Man" Smith and significant other, Jenna and soon to be great grandson, Kase, Ashleigh Deyo, and Aubrey "Mable" Deyo and her significant other Lucas; great grandchildren, Madelynn and Paisley; mother of his children, Marquita "Mickey" Deyo; mother, Lorraine Deyo; siblings, Kim Deyo and his wife Nita, and Kevin Deyo; companion, Sue Blair; best friend, Jimmy Blair and his family; and canine companions, Diesel and Oscar.

Steven is predeceased by his dad, Harold Deyo, brother, Scott Deyo and grandson Jonathan.

Friends and family will be invited to Steven's life celebration to include visitation on Friday, October 18th, 2024, from 6-9:00PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, VT 05488. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, at 11:00AM at St. Amadeus Catholic Church, 75 N. Main Street Alburgh, VT 05440.
