Sylvia E. Mayer

ST. ALBANS – Sylvia E. Mayer, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2022 at her home in Franklin at the Carriage House.

She was born in Worcester, Mass. on September 19, 1946 and raised by her adopted parents, Walter & Marjorie (Cooper) Clarkson.

Sylvia was the mother of one son, Richard, who she adored and committed all her love to raising. She devoted many years and made her career at General Electric. Sylvia and her companion, James Royea enjoyed fishing and feeding and watching the birds together through their window. Above all, Sylvia found the greatest joy in her daily phone chats with Richard and spending time with he and his family on the weekends.

She is survived by her son, Richard Mayer and his girlfriend Anna Lahue of Swanton; grandchildren, Zackary, Emma, and Brynn Mayer; her longtime companion, James Royea; and several special friends. Sylvia was predeceased by her adopted parents, Walter & Marjorie.

In respecting Sylvia’s wishes, her family is holding a private Life Celebration.
