Theresa Roy

EAST BERKSHIRE - Theresa Roy, age 83, entered her eternal life on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the St. Albans Health & Rehab Facility.

She was born on May 22, 1931 in Berkshire Center to the late Alfred & Edourdina (Paquette) Belanger.

Theresa was a resident of Berkshire for most of her life. She married Maurice Roy on October 22, 1949 and together they raised 3 children. In Theresas younger years she worked hard to take care of everyone; she made sure her children never went without and also helped Maurice run the construction business. She also enjoyed square dancing, crafting, bowling for the Dairy Center Lassies and crocheting. She was also a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Theresa suffered a stroke early in life, but her spunk allowed her to continue a fulfilling life. Although she was limited physically, she enjoyed listening to country western music, feeding the birds and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Rachel Roy of East Berkshire and Andre Roy and his wife Becky of Westford; her grandchildren, Rita & EJ Mead of Georgia, Anais Roy of Portland, ME and Patrick & Xander Roy of Westford; brothers, Raymond Belanger and his wife Kathleen of Pensacola, FL, Lucien Belanger and his wife Beverly of Sutton, VT, Emile Belanger of Berkshire and Roland Belanger and his wife Mary Ange of Washington Depot, CT and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Maurice Roy and her son, George Roy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2902 VT Route 105, East Berkshire with Fr. Karl Hahr officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Enosburgh.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT.
