ENOSBURG FALLS - Therese (Savoie) Pothier, age 89, wife of Bruno Pothier, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at her home with her loving family at her side.
She was born September 27, 1920 in St. Norbert Arthabaska, Quebec Canada, the daughter of the late Camille & Emma Sara Savoie.
Therese was born and raised in Quebec. She married Bruno Pothier on June 12, 1954 and they moved to Vermont in 1955 where they raised their family. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Therese was a loving and caring wife, mother & grandmother who provided a wonderful home for her family. She was an excellent cook, loved to entertain and most of all loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Bruno Pothier of Enosburg Falls; her children, Real Pothier and his partner Gary Bergeron of Richmond, Benoit Pothier and his wife Rita (Breault) of Enosburg Falls, Chantal Pothier and her husband Marty Lumbra of Montgomery Center, Josee Pothier and her partner Debbie Fisher of Franklin, and Carole (Pothier) Volaric and her husband Vasko of Sterling, VA; her grandchildren, Journey Snoke, Joseph Snoke, Danielle Pothier, Samantha Pothier, Martin Volaric and Michael Volaric; her brothers, and their wives, Guy & Jeanne dArc Savoie of Victoriaville, Quebec, and Gabriel & Reina Savoie of St. Norbert Arthabaska Quebec; and 75 nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Therese was predeceased by her siblings, Wilfred Savoie, Cecile Cecilia (Savoie) Lambert, Geraldine (Savoie) Poisson, Joseph Savoie, and Yvon Savoie.
The Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends and relatives will gather at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls on Saturday prior to the Mass from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM.
Visiting hours will be held Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
