ENOSBURG FALLS - Virginia E. Foote, age 81, passed away Monday morning September 28, 2009 at the St. Albans Healthcare & Rehab Center with her family at her side.
She was born August 4, 1928 in Enosburg the daughter of the late George & Nelda (Longe) Wood.
Virginia was a lifelong resident of Enosburg, She held many jobs including positions at Dairyland Restaurant, Enosburg Bobbin Mill, Dairy Center Restaurant, Enosburg Elementary School Hot Lunch Program, Thermo Wire, and finally retiring from General Electric.
She enjoyed going to auctions and lawn sales, playing BINGO, bowling, listening to fiddling, taking rides in the country and most of all caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Donna Cook and her husband Kenneth of Enosburg, Harold C. Foote, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Richford, Sheila Sheperd and her husband Randy of Richford, and Terri Foote of Enosburg; her grandchildren, Melinda Gilman and her husband Ted, Ann Ashton and her husband Wendell, Trish Foote and her fianc Jerod Adams, Isaac Foote and his wife Sara, Joel Paradee, Cody Sheperd, Casey Sheperd, Connor Sheperd, and Kyle Kittell; her great grandchildren, Caleb & Seth Gilman, Kenneth & Lilly Ashton, Emily & Wyatt Adams; her sister-in-law, Ramona Wood Powder Springs, GA; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Harold C. Foote, Sr.; her great grandchildren, (Triplets) Bradon, Jacob & Parker Adams; sister, June Baker; & 2 brothers, Charles & Russell Wood.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Daniel Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
