ENOSBURGH - Virginia Edna Leach, age 89 passed away Wednesday evening, March 24, 2010 at the Redstone Villa Nursing Home in St. Albans.
She was born October 20, 1920 in Barre the daughter of the late, Garold C. & Muriel (Stanton) Betters.
Virginia was a resident of Enosburgh most of her life and was a 1937 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Kenneth Cameron, Dr. Walter Johnson, and George Costes. She enjoyed knitting and riding horses.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Robert & June Leach of St. Albans, and Allen & Cheryl Leach of Enosburgh; her grandchildren, Tammy Greenia and her husband Luke, Timothy Leach, and William Leach and his wife Judy; her great grandchildren, Jonathan, Thomas, and Holly Jo and her husband Chad Sandvil; a great great granddaughter, Kaelynn Sandvil and a great great grandson Gavin Leach. In addition to her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Rice Jim Leach on October 4, 1999. Virginia & Jim were married on June 22, 1940. She was also predeceased by a brother, Garold W. Betters; and her step-father, Thomas MacBryde.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 2:00PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will follow in the Enosburgh Center Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
