Virginia Raymo

November 17, 1941 — June 18, 2015

BERKSHIRE - Virginia A. Ginny Raymo, age 73, left this earthly plain to be with her father in heaven on Thursday, June 18, 2015 after her third courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side at the Franklin County Health & Rehab Facility in St. Albans.

Born in St. Albans on November 17, 1941 to the late Wilfred and Ruth (Johnston) Rogers.

Virginia was raised in Sheldon with her 3 sisters and attended B.F.A. St. Albans. She married Robert Herron in 1960 and they had 2 daughters. On March 7, 1970 she married the love of her life, Marlin Raymo and together they had 1 son. After Marlins tragic death in 1973, Virginia raised her 3 children in Richford. She was a faithful member of the 1st Baptist Church in Richford. She also belonged and supported the Prison Support Group in Swanton.

She enjoyed her small community and neighbors. She loved country music and dancing and often went to events in Canada. She loved watching July 4th events in Richford, especially the fire fighters skit on Main St. She also loved her soap operas. Virginia worked for Brattleboro Mutual Aid, Brownway Residence in Enosburg Falls for 13 years and after that Vermont Associates.

Virginia is survived by her 3 children, Ruth Grandin of Edwardsville, PA, Robin Lambert and her partner Daniel of St. Albans and Lewis Raymo of Newport; a former son-in-law, Paul Lahue of Berkshire; 3 sisters, Sharron West and her husband Lee of LaFeria, TX, Pearl Gilbert and her husband Daniel of St. Albans and Valerie Clark and her husband David of Franklin; her dearly beloved granddaughter, Sharron Rotunno and her husband Craig and their children, Deric, Devon & Katie all of Richford who lovingly cared for Virginia over the last 2 years. Virginia is also survived by 8 more grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 3 special nephews and their families. Besides her parents and husband, Virginia is predeceased by a 4th special nephew, William Billy Clark.

Virginias family would like to thank the staff of Franklin County Health & Rehab for the compassionate care given to her over the past few months.

A memorial service in Virginias honor will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Lyle Willey officiating. Interment will be held privately at the familys convenience in the East Franklin Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 until the hour of the service.
