ENOSBURG FALLS - William A. Boucher, age 63, passed away Friday morning June 27, 2008 at his home with his family and friends by his side following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born January 23, 1945 in East Fairfield the son of the late Lewis H. & Merle A. (Marshia) Boucher.
In high School Bill loved to play baseball and basketball. As he got older he played baseball in the area senior mens league. Bill was an avid race car fan with Tony Stewart being his favorite driver. As a younger man he raced cars for Lane Stones Texaco at Catamont Stadium & Thunder Road and passed this passion on to his son Mike.
Bill also enjoyed playing cards. Bill & Pat especially looked forward to their monthly card games with Harold & Deb, Wayne & Edna, and Shorty & Wanda. They also loved their time spent at Brookside Campground. Bill loved to be with his dog Ashley and his cats Madison & Simmy.
Bill worked for the Enosburg Falls Water & Light Dept. for 32 years and several years as foreman, retiring in 2007 due to poor health. He was a member of the IBEW Local 300. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran and a life member of the American Legion Post # 42 of Enosburg Falls.
Bill is survived by his wife Patricia (Demosi) LaBier - Boucher of Enosburg Falls. They were married August 30, 2003. He is also survived by his children, Terri (Boucher) Ayers her husband Kevin and their children Hanna & Keegan Ayers of East Fairfield and Michael Boucher his wife Cathy (Fregeau) Boucher and their children Brianna & Robert of East Franklin; his step children, Christopher LaBier and his wife Carrie (Brandon) LaBier of Washington, DC, and Amy (LaBier) Kasica, her husband Joe and their daughter Sonoma Bella of St. Petersburg, FL. He also leaves Shayne Barbeau and his wife Christina (Blake) of Montgomery; his sister, Denise (Boucher) Sheridan of Enosburg Falls; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bernard Sr. & Edith Demosi of Essex Jct.; sister-in-law, Carol Dunshee and her friend Robert Cushing of Burlington; his brother-in-law, Bernard Demosi Jr. and his wife Kathy (Williams) of Murfeesboro, TN; many nieces, nephews & cousins; his special Brookside Campground family especially his good friend Brover Shorty Snider and his wife Wanda who he loved spending time with and helping at the campground. Besides his parents Bill was predeceased by his brother-in-law, James J. Sheridan
Funeral services will be held Monday June 30, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls with Rev. Rich ODonnell officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family in the Bradley Cemetery in Fairfield.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
