PENSACOLA, FL - William Richard Bill Riggie, age 61, of Pensacola FL, passed away on July 29, 2015 unexpectedly at his home.
Born in St.Albans, VT, he was the firstborn son of William K. Riggie and Patricia (Pollard) Riggie.
He graduated from Enosburg Falls High School, Class of \u002772, and honorably served in the U.S. Navy and VT National Guard. He retired from General Dynamics and went to work on golf courses in Essex and Williston. During this time he started his own property maintenance company, JIF, LLC. He was a 40-year member of the American Legion, a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 4218 and the Knights of Columbus Council 10417.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William K. Riggie and Patricia Riggie Graeter; his infant daughters, Jessica and Andrea; and by his parents-in-law, Arthur and Mary Soule.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Riggie; his cherished daughter, Lauren (Ren) Chase; and his adoring grandchildren, Isabelle and Jack Hammond. He is also survived by his step-mother Paula Riggie; his brother, Dana Riggie; sister, Michele (Aaron) Sweigart, and their son, Jason; brother, Scot (Melissa Mosley) Riggie; sister-in-law, Sue (Lee) Tillotson and their sons, Leif, Courtney (Sara), and Jeremy; three great-nephews and a great-niece and aunts, Pennie Chapman and Phyllis Riggie. He loved his family and this country with all his heart.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 7th at St. Isidore\u0027s Cemetery in Montgomery Ctr. at 2pm with a reception to follow at the Parrish Hall.
