Richford, VT / Cowansville, Que. -William A. Rogerson, age 90, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the Brome Missisquoi Perkins Hospital in Cowansville, Quebec.
He was born in Richford, VT on December 19, 1919 the son of the late William & Winifred (Atkins) Rogerson.
William was a resident of Richford most of his life. He entered the U.S. Air Force serving during WWII. He retired from the Canadian Pacific Railroad after many years of employment as the Station Master. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 12 of Richford and the Richford Lions Club. Bill was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed playing in his younger years.
He is survived by his wife, Arline (Ingalls) Rogerson of Abercorn, Quebec. William & Arline were married on August 13, 1977. He is also survived by his step-children, Gerald Bleser and his wife Francine of Sutton, Que, Lynne Bleser of Abercorn, Que, Joan Bleser of Abercorn, Que., and Cathy Bleser of Wolcott, VT; his step-grandchildren, Alyssa, Nicholas & Joshua Bleser, Jessica & Adam Deziel; his step great grandchildren, Tamica & Mia Deziel, and Maxim Moreau; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Rogerson; and nieces and nephews, Christine Crossman, Michael Crossman, John Rogerson, and Alfred Rogerson. Besides his parents, William was predeceased by his brother, John Rogerson.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Richford United Methodist Church, River St., Richford, VT with Rev. Herman Benjamin officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Richford, VT
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 2-4 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 140 Main St., Richford, VT
