RICHFORD - Wilma N. Marston, age 87, passed away Wednesday morning October 29, 2008 at the St. Albans Health & Rehab Facility.
She was born June 21, 1921 in Fairfield, Vermont the daughter of the late Frank L. & Lillian (Valley) Messier.
Wilma was a resident of Richford most of her life where she was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, V.F.W. Auxiliary Post # 778 of Swanton, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 12. She was employed for 31 Pearls Department Store in Richford, 16 years as a sales clerk and 15 years as manager. She had also worked at Gilmans Variety for nearly 5 years. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidering.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families including, Virginia Kinney and her husband Raymond of East Berkshire, Brian Buzz Messier and his wife Virginia of Berkshire, Gary Messier and his wife Sandra of West Planes, MO, and Gregory Messier of St. Albans. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brothers, Norbert Messier & Ronald Messier; and sisters-in-law, Catherine Messier and Elizabeth Messier.
Funeral services will be held Monday November 3, 2008 at 10:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in the East Franklin Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 to 9:45 AM at the Spears Funeral Home 140 Main St., Richford.
