ENOSBURG FALLS - Winona E. Jette, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 15, 2022.
She was born in Morgan City, LA on June 20, 1961 to Ira Joseph Landry and the late Beatrice (Loupe).
Winona attended Hastings High School, in Alief Texas, where she was a member of the softball team. During high school, Winona enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and hanging out with friends. She loved to attend concerts as well.
Winona met Marc through an arranged blind date, and the rest was history as they shared 42 years of marriage together. They moved to Vermont, where Marc's family is from, and Winona loved being in the country surrounded by lots of extended family. She enjoyed working in her garden, planting flowers, and making sure her hummingbird feeders had an endless supply of food to attract her tiny friends. Winona also had a passion for animals and loved being with her dogs...she especially loved teaching them to sing on command.
Winona loved to spend time with her grandchildren, Logan, Taylor, and Noah. She attended their sporting events, made dinners for them, and just listened if they wanted to talk. The last couple of years she really enjoyed traveling to Texas to spend time with her father, Ira Landry and step-mother Ann. Winona just loved her family and would devote most of her time caring for others. She was thoughtful, kind, funny, and adored by all.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Marc Jette; two sons, Eric Jette, and Stephen Jette and his wife Kyli; grandchildren, Logan, Noah, and Taylor Jette; father, Ira Landry; siblings-in-law, John Jette and his wife Catherine, Robert Jette and his wife Lucie, Rene Jette and his wife Lee Ann, and Andrew Jette; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, Winona was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Catherine Jette; and brother-in-law, Raymond Jette.
Services for Winona will be held at a later date in Louisiana.
